‘Tis the season to think beyond the nude colored lip! There is so much more to autumn than burnt sienna and beige. Updating your wardrobe was the easy part and there are a ton of lip colors that can vamp up your go-to makeup looks as well. September makes me think of spiced mahogany and creamy shades of mocha. When I wear a bold lip I always like to keep my blush and eye shadow neutral and dewy. It is subtle enough for a work day, but vibrant enough for a night out! Picking the right lip color for our skin is crucial and accentuates our complexion. Here is a little trick I use to pick out the perfect lip.

Just like hair color, lip shades can appear different depending on the underlying pigment of our complexion. So, how can we choose the right color for our skin? First, identify your skins undertone. Everyone has either a cool or warm tone. The most accurate way to tell is by checking the veins on your wrist. If they look blue, you have a cool, pink undertone. If they look green, you have a warm, yellow undertone. If you have both like I do, that means our skin is neutral and we can pull off any color! Use this tip to help you pinpoint your pout every time.

When you are blessed with beautiful porcelain skin, you will likely have a pink undertone. This means you want to stick with blue-based reds and pink lipsticks. But don’t allow these guidelines to keep you from having fun with your makeup! Shop the colors that will make your skin GLOW..

Warmer complexions look best in earth tones and flicks of gold. Almost everything will look great on you! Red, nude, plum, you name it. You can pretty much rock it all.  My personal favorite this season is black cherry! The colors below will give you the pop of color you’ve been looking for.

Darker-skinned women can have cool or warm undertones, which can affect the way the lip shade plays against their coloring.  Dark burgundies and deep browns will look magnificent on mahogany-skinned ladies. Those with cooler skin that are looking for an extra pop of color should switch it up with a bright red or orange. The choices below have a incredible pigment quality.

Playing with color is an easy way to jazz up any casual fit. I always love to wear these colors with a dewy complexion. For a healthy glow, try my favorite luminous skin mist! Head over to my INSTAGRAM and leave me a comment if you enjoyed this post!

Growing up I always had a fine, flat texture to my hair. You can’t have everything in this life, right?! Fortunately, they have so many incredible hair products to make your hair appear fuller. Luckily there are also many hacks to increase to volume in your hair! I have tried countless techniques such as teasing, blow drying, and setting sprays. I am a product junkie! Throughout the years of trial and error, I found products that I really enjoy, and discovered what made my hair look like an oil slick!

When you have a finer hair texture, you definitely don’t want to overindulge on root lifter and blow out creams. You can use a little bit and it will go a long way. You want to stay away from putting any oils at your root. Only use oil based products for your mid-shaft to your ends. Root lifters and volume sprays can be used directly to your root, as well as your ends.

In this video I show you how to create soft, luscious looking waves with very minimal effort. I learned that using the right products and tools you can achieve any look that you desire. With a little bit of patience, practice, and great products, you can maintain that fresh salon look!
