Day Dreaming In Denim: Let’s get down to business

Happy Wednesday my loves! I hope you are all having a productive, fulfilling week. I have been getting a lot of questions on how I balance my full time job and my side business, so I figured I would take advantage of this post and fill you in! All of my boss babes know that the hustle never stops! You’re constantly on the go, creating connections, brainstorming, and planning your week to stay ahead of the game. For me, growing in the beauty business has really disciplined my time management. But, the first five years of being in the business, I completely exhausted myself because I refused to say no to anything. I soon learned that I was drowning myself with a schedule I couldn’t handle, and I was actually getting less accomplished. I hope these tips help motivate you into starting your dream business, or help you organize the one you currently have!

One thing I learned over time was to stop relying on my memory. Writing things down throughout the day gives me more room to retain information, and the space I need to get creative with my job. I always have a pen and notepad nearby in case an idea pops into my head, or I have to make a phone call later in the day. Its a small notion that makes a huge difference for me. Sometimes I’ll get an idea from a client for my blog or someone mentions a new podcast/song I have to listen to that I don’t want to forget about.

Create a simple schedule. Map out the things you want to focus on Monday-Sunday and be realistic about it. I pencil in the days I am working my full time job and schedule blog posts, content, and side jobs around it. You don’t have to be skilled in excel, all you need to do is write down each day of the week and create small windows of time that you want to get certain things done. Consistency is everything! Every week, as long as you’re working toward each of your goals – it is going to pay off, I promise you. It is the little things that add up! Your week doesn’t always go as planned, of course. But if you know you have something written down to accomplish that day you’ll be more likely to do it.

When you create a solid schedule you are holding yourself accountable. Talking to others about your idea will help you in the long run. You’re verbally holding yourself accountable and getting different ideas from others. This may sound cliche, but, the law of attraction is a real thing!! When you’re talking about ideas and brainstorming with others, you are speaking it into existence. When you have a great idea, obsess over it!

Play to your strengths, and be honest with yourself about your weakness. Unfortunately, I am not skilled at everything, I wish I was (it would save me a lot of $$$ LOL). Knowing my weakness has helped me get things done more efficiently. I was never good with organization, until I reached out to someone that helped me get organized. I was never good at color, until I took a ton of classes that gave me the confidence to do a corrective color. There will always be someone out there that can do your job better than you, so asking for help will only benefit you in the long run.

This is just a topic I am super passionate about that I wanted to share with you.. I would love to hear your business stories and ideas. I am working on creating this platform so we can share our experiences and support, and empower one another! Leave a comment below or message me @LaurenLoSacco. Thank you for reading!

There is no doubt that the bodysuit has been brought back to life from the 80’s. It has been seen in every model-off-duty’s closet. Celebrities such as Kendall and Kylie Jenner, Hailey Baldwin, Chrissy Teigen and other fashion icons live for this trend. They are easy to dress up with a pencil skirt and your favorite pair of heels, or dress down with a pair of vintage boyfriend jeans and converse sneakers. This season, more than ever, the bodysuit is an inspired sartorial staple available in a variety of silhouettes, fabrics, prints, and patterns. But without the help of a celeb stylist how are we supposed to pick the right fit for our body type? Well, I have come up with a simple strategy to help you get it right every single time.

Keep reading if you want to discover these three simple steps…

Pay attention to the material

It is safe to say that synthetic materials aren’t going to be as comfortable as cotton, especially if you’re going to wear it for a long period of time. If you are going to wear it with tighter bottoms, make sure you chose a softer material to avoid any irritation. Ladies, you know exactly what kind of irritation I am talking about (ouch).

Take drastic measures

Figuratively speaking, make sure you measure accurately! I wouldn’t recommend purchasing your usual size because the suit will vary depending on the length of your torso. When it comes to regular tops I am typically a size small or medium, but in body suits, I am usually a size medium or large. I always hesitate to purchase larger sizes because of my long torso, but I am thankful when I don’t have to deal with a dreaded wedgie in all the wrong places.

Cover for comfort

The styles are endless, from plunging necklines, to backless, skin tight fits. Know yourself and what you will feel the most confident in. I typically don’t wear a bra, so I always chose a style that has thicker material in the front for extra support. It is important to choose the cut that you will feel comfortable in; that will also allow a little breathing room for the girls.

The bay of Naples is known to be one of the most romantic and colorful destinations in the world. The pastel colors of each house and the comfortable laid-back lifestyle gave me a ton of inspiration on what to wear during my stay. I wanted to make sure I was comfortable enough to indulge and explore during the day but also dressy enough for an evening of dining. The cobble stone streets made it hard to wear any kind of heel (which I quickly learned), so I definitely recommend packing some comfortable shoes! Beaded sandals, wedges or a block heel would be ideal for a day in the town.

I stumbled across a local boutique called Maricella and fell in love with a bag I saw through the window. This purse was unique and reminded me of the island; consisting of different colors and textures. It was pretty interesting to find out that this brand, D’ Barrito, creates their products with the left over materials and fabrics from Fendi, Prada and Gucci. Each bag is unique and numbered in the order in which they are created. I paired it with a striped top and a relaxed pair of jeans from H&M. Tying it around my waist allowed for a comfortable day of exploring the island and spontaneous photo shoot on a rooftop in the Corricella.

( This humidity was brutal on my hair as you can see lol! )

When I came across this maxi dress from Fashion Nova, I immediately had to purchase it. I loved the lemon detail, plunging neckline and halter style straps. This citrus fruit runs through the history of Italy like a golden thread.

My favorite part of the dress was the thigh high slits that were flattering from every wind blowing angle. Side note: flowy dresses leave more room for pizza and gelato!

For the majority of summer I have been draping myself in palazzo pants and floral prints. Floral details are fun, feminine and can instantly brighten up any outfit. Here are a few of my favorite pieces…

So if you are planning a spontaneous getaway or just want to snag a good end of summer sale, I made sure to post all of the good stuff!! Enjoy shopping my loves!
